You don’t have to neglect your international interest once you’re back on campus.
Join the International Illini
The International Illini is a student-run organization that works with the Study Abroad office to provide opportunities for study abroad returnees and international exchange students to meet and socialize, making campus a more international place.
Shortly after you return, you will start receiving information about International Illini events via email.
Join Be Global

Other International Opportunities
Study Abroad Again
It is quite common for students to study abroad more than once. If you are thinking of studying abroad again, please come by the Study Abroad Office to make an appointment to meet with an advisor.
Graduate Study Abroad
The Study Abroad Office has some limited information on graduate programs abroad, but there are other excellent websites to help you get started. Review online international graduate school information and you can also make an appointment with the appropriate advisor for more information.
Your study abroad experience could possibly make you an excellent candidate for several prestigious international scholarships, including the Rhodes, Fulbright, and Marshall scholarships. If you are interested in applying for graduate scholarships for international study, contact the National and International Scholarships Program at the University of Illinois.
Information about work abroad opportunities can be found at Jobs Abroad or the Career Center. Their resource room includes information regarding hundreds of international employment and internship possibilities.
You may also be interested in participating in a volunteer program overseas. There are numerous agencies that coordinate volunteer programs throughout the world. The Peace Corps is one option that has a representative on campus to recruit new volunteers.

Finding an internship is also a good way to return overseas. The Career Center is a good place to start your search for an internship abroad. There are also several specific organizations that help students find internships abroad: AIESEC, IAESTE, and Internabroad.
