Throughout the year, we are active in promoting study abroad opportunities to students, faculty, and staff.

Illinois Abroad Day

Illinois Abroad Day is a university-wide event held annually in the Fall. It is coordinated by our office in collaboration with the other college study abroad offices, who also host fairs across campus on the same day. The event provides Illinois students the opportunity to explore programs, talk to returning students, and learn about resources available to assist them in the study abroad process. Info Sessions & Workshops

We offer a variety of info sessions and workshops to meet the needs of our students. All upcoming info session and workshop dates, times, locations, and details are available on our Calendar.

Regional Info Sessions are organized by the Education Abroad Coordinators and are designed to provide information about the different study abroad programs in their regional portfolio.

Our Education Abroad Coordinators are happy to collaborate with faculty and staff to showcase study abroad programs designed for students in a specific field. Visit the Meet Our Staff page to connect with one of our Education Abroad Coordinators.

The First Steps Workshop will encourage you to consider important factors before choosing a study abroad program. This includes academics, housing, duration, location, and cost. Led by our Program Assistants, you will learn how to research a program, understand the costs, how to apply for scholarships, and how to start an application.
