Alejandra joined IAGE August 2017. She is a senior at the School of Social Work. She studied abroad her sophomore year in Ireland Fall of 2016 and Costa Rica Spring 2017. Alejandra enjoys encouraging other students to study abroad. She is a first generation Latina college student and a huge advocate for education, travel, and community service.

Arnold is a senior on the pre-med track, double majoring in Molecular and Cellular Biology. He studied in Barcelona at the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in the Fall of 2017. He loves his role as a program assistant because he gets to interact with so many students with different interests that help him learn even more about places he has never been before.

Studied abroad in Brazil

Cynthia is a first-generation junior double majoring in Global Studies and Portuguese with a minor in Spanish. She studied abroad at Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio de Janeiro in Brazil during her Spring 18 semester. She began working for IAGE in August 2018. Her favorite part about working with the global engagement team is that she gets to reach out to underrepresented students and get them excited about going abroad and experiencing an experience of a lifetime!

Emily Alameda is a senior studying Spanish with a minor in creative writing. She studied abroad in Granada, Spain during Spring 2018. She chose to become a program assistant at IAGE with the global engagement team because she is passionate about making study abroad reflect the campus as a whole, and about increasing participation of underrepresented students within study abroad.

Heidi is a senior majoring in supply chain management and marketing at the University of Illinois. She started working as a program assistant at IAGE in August of 2017. Heidi studied abroad in the spring semester of 2017 at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in Kowloon, Hong Kong. Her favorite part about advising students is getting her peers excited about going abroad. Heidi hopes that by sharing her study abroad journey, it'll inspire other students to go and create their own experience.

James joined IAGE in August 2018. He is a senior studying Marketing and Business Process Management. He studied abroad in Spring 2017 at the University of Wollongong, Australia. In his free time, he enjoys outdoor recreation and nature photography. On campus, James is involved with a sketch comedy group where he writes, directs, and performs live shows.

Jiayi is a senior student majoring in Math and Statistics. She studied in Singapore in Spring '17 and started working as a program assistant this fall semester. Her favorite thing about advising is that she always gains new perspectives about study abroad and learns from the students, and at the same time, can use what she's experienced and learned to better help students.

Mady is a Senior studying Kinesiology in the College of Applied Health Sciences. She studied abroad in Stirling Scotland in Spring '18 and this is her first year as a program assistant in the Advising and Resource Center. Her favorite thing about advising is helping students through the study abroad process and helping them find the program that is the best fit for them.

Nicole joined IAGE in August 2018. She is a junior majoring in Spanish with minors in Slavic Studies and English. She studied abroad in the spring of her sophomore year in Granada, Spain. Some of her favorite things about working as a Program Assistant are the ability to guide students on their path to an unforgettable global experience, and getting face-to-face contact with those who need the most help before and after their study abroad term.

Rad is a senior studying History with a Global Studies minor. He studied abroad in Manchester, U.K. in Spring 2018. Rad chose to become a program assistant because he's passionate about helping students find the programs that best suit them and their interests. Rad also loves talking about his own experience abroad and advising students about all the opportunities that they can take advantage of while abroad.

Saloni is studying Marketing & Information Systems &a Information Technology. She studied abroad at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in Spring 2018. On campus she is involved in Illini Film-Video, Delta Sigma Pi, and Design for America. In her free time she likes to make videos and attend different events and shows going on in the community.

Taylor is a senior majoring in advertising in the College of Media at the University of Illinois. He started working at IAGE in August of 2018 after spending the previous spring semester studying abroad at Gustolab Institute in Rome, where he got to sample some of Italy's best food. Taylor enjoys encouraging prospective students to study abroad and is a good resource for students interested in programs in Italy.
